Twenty years ago, Giant Lead was founded in Taiwan. In 2001, Mr. Lin continued his PVA business and established another factory to expand production capacity in Huizhou. It took only six years, for Giant Lead to become the industry leader for PVA cleaning products in China. He told us he also wanted to become the "president" recently. One sunny morning, our reporter visited Mr. Lin at his factory in Huizhou. Mr. Lin welcomed us by brewing us a cup of aromatic coffee from Taiwan. With his friendly smile, he shared his success story with his heavy Taiwanese accents.
The reason why Mr. Lin has such an outstanding achievement, we should look at the way the effort he put into his career in order to understand his path to success. Mr. Lin ancestral home was in Quanzhou Anxi. He was born in Chiayi County, Taiwan. Raised in an ordinary peasant family, he was naturally gifted with an intellectual brain. When he was young, he especially worshiped heroes, and thus he was determined to become one. This ambitious goal becomes his guidance.
Yes, he also dreamt to become a president. Of course, to be able to become one is a goal and vision. From his vision, we could see Mr. Lin is truly a ambitious and aggressive businessman with passion.
 Dreams come true – start his own business!
Inherited his hard-working attitude from his parents, he started his small business by selling stereos in Taipei right after graduated from high school. He did that for several years and learnt many difficult lessons. He started to understand the dynamic and vicissitudes of the market, strengthened his critical thinking skills and open to many ideas and possibilities. With his entrepreneurial dream, he slowly created his business vision.
In order to expand the business, and seek for better business opportunities, he began to sell stereos to accumulate his capital. In 1984, Giant Lead was established, and it is the foundation for the PVA sponge business. With this foundation, he realized his dream to start his own business. However, he was not satisfied. In his own words, "I want to succeed, I would like to stand out. When a dream is fulfilled, I can move forward towards success with confidence."
Art of Maneuvering
Mr. Lin always devoted in self-improvement. He likes to challenge his limits. Face his own success, he is very modest. He told the reporter to also write the hardships he has been through and should not only focus on his success. 
Yes, with any business, there is no easy sailing. Mr. Lin encountered various bottlenecks and difficulties. He told the reporters, the worst situation he faced was in 1990. That year, in order to develop a brand new product, he invested heavily on manpower, material resources and fund, a loss of over 10 million NT dollars was resulted from a number of external factors, and put him in debt. Even though he faced some difficulties and felt pessimistic, he did not give up his dream. With the will to success, he started new development, and paid off entire debt using only two years.
Profound Accumulation in Huizhou
Coming to Huizhou gives Mr. Lin a great opportunity to build his business foundation and accumulate wealth. In fact, in early nineties, he already came to China. Settling in Dongguan allowed him to obtain more insights.  

     During that time, there was a reformation in China for new development. There are many business opportunities. Mr. Lin saw the opportunities and decided to study the market. He visited cities and Shenzhen and Dongguan. He saw China is a labor intensive country and PVA cleaning industry is still blank at that time. He saw there was a great market potential for the PVA cleaning tools.
Talking about Huizhou, Mr. Lin had many interesting insights. Mr. Lin said, “Living in a big city for 18 years, in my opinion, Shanghai and Shenzhen are entertainment cities, they are not the place for working. Even though Huizhou is a smaller city in scale, it is rich in history and natural resource. The environment is nice and transportation is convenient. It has good mountain, good water, and it is a truly beautiful place. He is also impressed by Huizhou government’s great hospitality, especially in the effort of improving the investment environment. People in Huizhou are also very friendly. These were the factors why I chose Huizhou.
Becoming Industry Leader
In 2001, Mr. Lin saw a great place close to Loufu Mountain. He fell in love with this place immediately, bought the land for investment, and started Giant Lead. There were only 5 people to start. With 6 years of hardwork and development, Giant Lead expand rapidly and soon became the famous “Taiwan PVA Sponge, manufactured in Huizhou”.
Pursuit of transcendence and integrity has always been Mr. Lin’s concept of entrepreneurship. Because of these valuable virtue he held, Mr. Lin has a sound business reputation. Many friends from the industry, including those friends in Taiwan, became great business partners. Fostering good and long term business relationship brought solid business growth.
Mr Lin told reporters that the second year of production which is in August 2002, Giant Lead obtained ISO9001: 2000 certificate. The PVA sponge series is qualified for the exemption of international commodity. China Light Product Quality Assurance Center and the China International Environmental Protection and Development Center also awarded the product as "China's outstanding green products”  "Taiwan PVA Sponge, China's first, Manufactured in Huizhou” became one of the most popular cleaning products throughtout China. At the same time, we also established branches in North America and Germany, and set up sales office in many major cities such as Dongguan and Suzhou in China. Giant Lead’s PVA sponge series became very popular and the products received a sound reputation worldwide.
 Mr. Lin was also pleased to say that, people all over China loves PVA sponge series. People from Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai like the quality and beauty. Those from Sichuan, Xian and Anhui like the products because they are reliable, affordable; Hunan, Guangdong, Shenzhen and Hong Kong people like the elegant and sophisticated chic. Following Luofu Mountain’s natural scenery and walking into Giant Lead , you can sense a vivid ambience under the sunlight. The plant itself is bright and spacious. Employee dormitory and kitchen is clean and comfortable. All the employees are working hard to produce these amazing products. With Mr. Lin’s care, employees found their second home and see themselves as a part of this big happy family.

   During the interview, we could see what Mr. Lin care the most is his employees. When he talks about his employees, we can feel about his caring and compassion and it touches us greatly. He rarely talk about how difficult is for him to start the business, and rarely about how successful he is, however, when he talks about his staff, we can feel he truly cares for them.
Mr. Lin told us he has also been through many difficult situations, therefore, it understand the feeling of leaving home to make a living. In fact, the way how he manage the employee is based on “trust”. When we interviewed the worker from the workshop, one staff told us that Mr. Lin is a great boss. He really cares about the employees and he tries his best to provide a great living environment for them, help the staff to financial planning, and also provide solutions to the staff if they face problems. He cares for his employees, pays the salary on time, and creates great incentive reward system for staff who has outstanding performance. So all the staff works hard as they know if the company is doing well, they are doing well. It’s a win-win situation which also builds core competence in the company. At the same time, the company will organize some entertainment to enrich the cultural aspect of life. Mr. Lin loves reading and learning. He encourages his employees to learn new skills, and culture in order to improve overall quality. Giant Lead continues to be the best in the market by constantly learning and find creative ways to open up the business opportunities.
When a reporter visited the production workshop and interviewed some workers, we can see a creative, smart, passionate, and generous Mr. Lin walks into every staff’s heart.

   Making money for the country

The reason that I start business and make money is hope to create a better environment for our homeland our country, improve the living standard, pay tax, and create more job opportunity in Huizhou. Even though Mr. Lin has many opportunities to invest in other countries because of his love to his country, his homeland and everyone around he, he still choose to stay in Huizhou.

The simple words that Mr Lin said touch us greatly. His down to earth and easy going personality also shows his domineering characteristic. He thinks differently from others. When people cannot reach the goal, he will have to make it happen. When people can obtain the goal, he will do better. When people master in a field, he strives for innovation.
  I remember what Mr. Lin told me. Mr. Lin told us he is very happy to make the decision to invest in Huizhou. Huizhou has changed tremendously over the past years. The environment improves greatly, especially government provided many good policies for Taiwanese investors making me have more confident in staying here. Therefore, Mr. Lin will try to expand his factory as well as planning to step into hotel and food industry in order to benefit the people in Huizhou.

   We could see Mr. Lin has a strong sense of social responsibility and his attitude to overcome limitations. That’s why he could stand strongly in this ever changing business world. He is a true warrior in today’s world.  
 Great social responsibility
Mr. Lin is the CEO of Giant Lead and also the vice president of Taiwanese Investment Association. In 2006, he also became the president of Taiwanese Associate in Chang Ning.  He is very honored by this. The heavy work load becomes a great challenge for him. He knows it is his responsibility to master the challenge. He often travels back and forth between Taiwan and China. He only rests for 6 hours per day, and sometimes he works 24 hours straight. Every February there is regular meeting to determine a theme and to invite officers from local government and relevant departments to participate and help answer some regulations and policies.  “Taiwanese business is my business,” Therefore, whenever there is a Taiwanese faces some difficulties, Mr. Lin will try his best to help to resolve. This touches the heart of many Taiwanese in China. Now, they are building a security team, combining the force of the government, police station, and securities to make up for the shortage of local police forces in order to straighten local safety.
To support the local public welfare, Mr. Lin set up a social welfare foundation which the funds are used mainly to build local schools, help disadvantaged households, and care for lonely seniors. Creating a reasonable profit, mutual benefit and give back to society. Everyone is happy" is Giant Lead’s business motto, and also a true portrayal of Mr. Lin’s heart. The money that I use to fight against poverty, contribute to charities, I never really calculated. Whenever local government faced some difficulties, he will try his best to help.

   Mr Lin also said, “To make life fulfilling and meaningful is to contribute back to the society and it is the goal he sets for himself”
  It is very rewarding to actualize the dream. Face his own success, Mr. Lin is very happy but also sees it very casually because he knows it is still a long road and there are still many things that wait for him to achieve.    Mr. Lin, we wish you will continue to succeed!
